The Value of Good Manners

Manners are the external decoration of man. Manners stand tor good qualities or virtues which endears us to others. They stand for polite behavior, courtesy, good conduct and graceful gestures. A good moral character is also included in good manners. Snobbery and showy conduct do not reflect good character. A good nature is like a bee. It gathers honey from every flower. A bad nature is like a spider. It sucks poison from the sweetest flower. A well behaved person always spreads sunshine around him. Good manners can be acquired from school and surroundings. Well-behaved parents leave a lasting effect on their children. A man with good manners is looked upon with respect in a company. Manners are closely linked with discipline. We may not shine in society but we can be agreeable on all occasions. Good manners are the most valuable ornaments with which one can decorate oneself. Hatred, jealousy, tendency to quarrel with others and an irritable temper are the enemies of good manners.
