Cricket Match At the beginning of the match there was the toss, By losing it, the England captain was cross. Indian captain MS Dhoni chose to bat,  And all the Indian players except the openers sat.  The match started with a crispy four And it looked like the Indians would hit more. Some big ones did fly out of the park,  And then England followed down a path which was dark. That's when wickets tumble and so did a hat-trick, India weren't able to break the wall of brick. But the recovery of India was also fast, India did not lose the match at last. The final Score of India was a flexible one, And the evening had started, which hid the sun. England's start was good, but unable to continue that They lost Wickets, and were unable to bat. The Man of the Match was R. One Night Alone in the House Last Friday I had a memorable experience. Due to an urgent call from my grandmother, my parents had to leave at 9 o'clock. I was all alone in the house. As soon as they left I switched on the television and sat with a bowl of popcorn. I was enjoying the Tom and Jerry show when I heard the thundering. I immediately ran to he window to be welcomed by lightning and thunder. The wind rattled the window panes. I could hear the rustling of the leaves. The trees in the lawn were swaying from side to side. It was a wonderful sight. While I ran to shut the windows of all the rooms I heard the pattering of the rain. The rain continued for two hours. Suddenly I was surrounded by darkness. I realized that it was a power cut, due to thundering and incessant rain. I had an eerie feeling as I could hear the ticking of the clock. A True Friend A true friend is the one who stays beside us in both good and bad times. Ram and Sam are an example of such friends. They love each other, believe each other, and trust each other. God's Coffee A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university professor. Conversation soon turned to complaints about stress in work and life.  Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the coffee. When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said "if you noticed, all the nice-looking expensive cups were taken up leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it was normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. Be assured that the cup itself adds no quality to coffee. A Marriage One day I went to a marriage   There the thing I liked best was the groom's carriage. Ghost in Sonajhuri Once, on a full moon night we went to Sonajhuri. The place was calm and far away from the town. There was a forest. As the night advanced, the surroundings became quiet. The forest was full of trees. The colour of the trees became silvery. The call of foxes and owls could he heard. We were in a mysterious place full of silence. Suddenly, we heard a humming sound. My father told us to be silent. The sound was constantly increasing. We were frightened. My father went to discover the source of the sound and we all followed him with fear. My Best Birthday Gift Every year I get many gifts on my birthday from my friends and relatives. Last year I got my best birthday gift from my father. It was a cute puppy. When my papa brought him he was only one and half month old. That time he used to drink milk only. I call him Sheru. Papa made a nice home for Sheru with a big packing box. Whenever I study he sits beside me. When I play in the garden he becomes my partner. He brings the ball back from the place where I throw it. In the morning when I get ready for my school, Sheru helps me by bringing my tie, identity card etc. Sometimes I forget to take my water bottle, then he quickly hangs the bottle around his neck and runs to my school bus. A Scary Night On 21st July 2013, it was very dark and I was coming back home from he station, all alone. Just then, while passing by an old house, I saw a man in the top room of the house.  But when I looked at him carefully, he disappeared suddenly. Then I saw, another man standing there with a knife. I knew that the house was a secret gold storing house and no one was allowed to go in, as it contained hundreds of things made of gold.  It had hundreds of CCTV cameras and many guards for safety.  The next day when I informed the police about it, they rolled all the CCTV cameras but could not find anyone. But when my friends heard about it, they said that they had also experienced it. Then we asked the police that can we explore the house, they allowed us and sent a police man to escort us. Life of a Maruti Car Once upon a time, there was a Maruti car. It was owned by Mr. Sunil who was a bank manager. He easily used to go to his bank and to many other places. He used to wash the car everyday and would take good care of it. The car was a good companion for him.  A year later, he sold the car as he had to shift to Australia with his family. Two weeks later, the car was owned by Mr. Rahul who has a small shop in the main street. He was not a kind man and he ill- treated the car. He was a reckless driver and the car got many scratches and bruises. When he bought the car it was as good as a new one but for the damages it looked very ugly and old. One day as usual Mr. Rahul drove the car very fast. Suddenly, there was an accident at a sharp turn. Mr. Rahul was seriously wounded and the car was damaged beyond repair. My Dream I was very excited to go to our school pícnic with all my friends. It was last winter. We went to Monobitan Park. When we reached Monobitan Park,  our breakfast was ready. We had our breakfast.  There were Puris and Paneer masala. After that we played with our friends. There were many things to  play with. When we were tired we came back and  had our lunch with our teachers. We had chowmein, chilli chicken, and sweets. After lunch we all danced together to a fabulous music, and had great fun. When we were returning home in the afternoon we were all very upset, because we will have to wait one long year for the next picnic. In the bus we had ice-cream and chips. A Visit to a Circus Last winter, I went to Park Circus Maidan to enjoy the famous Ajanta Circus. I went there with my parents. There was a long queue in front of the ticket counter. After buying the tickets, we entered inside the huge tent. We got seats near the centre stage. The stage was well decorated with balloons and lights. It was the evening show. Galleries were full with audience. The clowns started the show with their funny tricks. The performers on the balance and ropes were really thrilling. The gymnastics performed by acrobats with the music got a loud round of applause from the audience. The birds were riding small bicycles. The animals like horses, tigers and lions amused us with their various tricks. The elephant kicked a ball towards me. I was surprised to see the motor car racing on the stage. Trip to Katra and Jammu & Kashmir I would like to share my wonderful experience of a trip Katra and Jammu & Kashmir on last winter vacation. My dad and mom had planned a long awaited trip to these places. I was very excited. We packed our bags happily and started our journey on 19th December from Kolkata. We boarded the morning train from Kolkata station. There were around 40 people in the group with us. We planned the trip with a Travel Agent. It was an early morning train and we ate breakfast once we settled down in our compartment. It was real fun for me. After that we had lunch in the afternoon and thereafter dinner. I was enjoying every bit of the journey. We reached Jammu at around 10 am after 2 days. It was a long journey but not that tiring as we were having lots of fun. The Last Leaf It was autumn, the golden me, A golden joy that lit the world in a golden shine. The breeze was soft, yet fierce enough -- To blow the leaves from the trees thereof...  The roads lay littered with a carpet of gold,  Littered with leaves, new and old. All the trees were devoid of life, As the leaves fell down at Autumn's knife. All but one, a leaf was still on. It fought for it's life, fought long and hard, But a gentle breeze caught it off guard. Gently it left the branch behind, As the sunlight bathed it in a glow so kind Time almost froze as the leaf kept falling, Slowly and dreamily, its head was lolling.
