| A Teenage Crush |
Went off for her usual stroll.
She passed by the green bushes,
Quite cheerful on the whole.
She skipped down the marble road,
Marked with broad white lines,
To her friend's place she was going
Perhaps something was on her mind.
But something was on his mind
As he watched her come close
She would pass by him, knew it well,
And then he'd give her a red rose.
Ah yes! For he had a crush on her
But didn't have courage at all
To confess his feelings like a man
Hiding behind a white gray wall.
But now, she was coming closer
And time was flying by
The moment of confession was here, at last,
And then he froze at her sight.
And there she was, her charming face,
Startled to see him there.
In front of her, him standing there,
To her, he had appeared out of nowhere.
But alas! He could not again
At all gather his nerves
He couldn't even say a thing
To her the one he loved.
And she stood there with an innocent look
She knew nothing of what he felt
To her he was just a neighbour
And they had met by accident.
She gave him a smile, blinked her eyes
Then strolled off, leaving him alone
Then looked back, perhaps longingly
At him, the rose ....
.... And she was gone.
