Imagine yourself to be a toy of clay,
A mere puppet
What brings life to your otherwise inert body
Are the eternal soul and loving heart.
A soul that you share with God himself
A heart that you share with your kith and kin
God made the world for us all to share
Man divided it into bits.
God created a single path for all to amble
So that they could attain him with devotion,
Man divided this path
And of all names, called it religion.
A Muslim traversed one path to reach Allah
A Hindu travelled another to reach Ishwar
But man, the fool, failed to realize
That both the path and the goal were so similar.
They adopted different means of prayer
Different tongues, different apparel,
Different temples, different mosques,
And then waged a fruitless, queer battle.
A battle to prove their superiority
A battle that was unlike others;
A battle that was far from human,
A battle between brothers.
Even after years of this inane struggle,
They fail to realize it has no end,
The Gita, the Quran though preach the samethin
Yet to these combatants, they are fully dife
It is not enough for me to want peace, different
All of us need to spread the word,
Let truce be the chosen path
Let us put an end to this fight absurd.
It won't take much time to realize
How we are only murdering fraternity
How this is not what the lord wants from us
How we need to abolish inequality.
And for all of those who still do not agree
With my take on war and peace
Experience will show then the true light
And pray the battles cease.
