As one refers to the universe, the idea of the solar
system comes to one's mind. While speaking of the
solar system, the idea of planets strikes one's mind.
I don't want to engage myself in the controversy of
how many planets exists in our solar system. There
may be eight or nine. Apart from those, there are
planets which are referred to as the "Dark planets".
They are situated at a distance far from the glowing
ball of fire. As they are situated far away from the
sun the sunlight is not able to reach such planets.
Life may be existing there but its presence til now
has not been discovered. As no light can reach there
the places are very cold! Cold conditions are not
conducive to growth of any kind. But it may be that
the existence of anything on those planets is not
visible to our naked eyes. The scientists are very
eager to know about the existence of life on such
planets and I think that within a short span of time
they would be successful. They are also trying to find natural resources like coal, petroleum as well
as expensive materials like gold, silver and many
other things. Not only would it help in business but
would also provide us with resources after our
natural resources are exhausted.
They are also trying to find, on other planets, any
evidence that would provoke a person to think twice
about whether or not life really exists on such planets.
In other words their search for life is on. I think that
the reason behind such a continual search for life
may be the ones stated below. The first and the
foremost reason may be the explosion of population.
The population of the world is increasing at such a
high rate that after a few years our planet would not
be able to accommodate such huge numbers. The
second reason may be the explosion chances of its
destruction. The planet was formed millions of years
ago and still exists today. But the planet, after many
years, may come to an end. Recently there has been a rumour about the destruction of earth in the Mayan
calendar. However nothing of this sort happened
and the idea was proved to be wrong.
They are also trying to discover machines and other
means of transport that would easily accommodate
a huge number of people and transport them to other
planets. They are trying to find planets with the same
conditions as that on earth, as it would help them to
easily achieve their aim. These things may appear
funny but it is really a fact. The scientists have
discovered that if any severe tilt or inclination occurs
in the earth's axis then it may change for the worse.
Not only the weather, climatic conditions and natual
habitat but we human beings can also change into
things that we can't even imagine of. Hence, I want
to conclude by saying that if anything of this sort
ever happens then the scientists would be able enough to protect and save the lives of such a huge
population. Even if nothing of such a sort happens
still the resources found would be of great help to
the people and the planet.
