| My First Day at School |
Well, I know it is rather lame for a class XI student to be discussing her first day at school - who is interested? None would be, had I narrated about the day I trotted down to school for the first time in a teeny-weeny tunic with two fluffy sleeves, fountain- like ponytails, cuddly pink cheeks, loud wails and inarticulate lingo people would have given me a patient haring. Instead, I am going to share with you my first day in Class XI as an M P Bian. To be very frank, my previous school had an entirely different aura, which made me quite nervous here. I followed the crowd from the main gate to the Assembly Hall, but what next? Where should I go? I could see flocks of students going out and flocks of students coming in but what should I do with myself? I had no idea.
So what I chose to do instead was to stand under the portraits of Mr. and Mrs. Birla with my bag against the wall, meanwhile staring at the huge population in from of my eyes. I glanced at nearly all of them -by-one and eavesdropped into their discussions. I had clearly nothing to do for half-an- hour.
Then I thought about making a move. I espied a girl who seemed to be of my age. She too looked bewildered like me. With a lot of preparation, bubbling confidence and a smile, I approached her. I thought of sticking onto her until I reached the classroom. She would be my first friend at M.P. Birla. F.H.S School.
"New student?" I asked.
"Yes", she replied. ... (BINGO!)
Section?
"E (BINGO!)
Class XI, right?"
"No, Class IX" ...
(HOPES SHATTERED, TERRIBLE)
Until we reached the classroom after the assembly, I had made at least one acquaintance. But soon after I was in class, I managed to introduce myself to two more new comers Everything was new to me. Although I still love my previous school, yet M.P.Birla F. H. S. School fascinates me. The first few weeks as a newcomer in Class XI is actually bizarre, for you know little about the school and even lesser about people around you. I am really slow at making friends, which many complain about. Nevertheless, I really enjoy being called an MPBian. I have made several friends and wish to make many more. I know where to and where not to stand in the Assembly Hall and, most importantly, I don't mistake Class IX girls for Class XI any more!
